If you are searching for a solution to streaming bluetooth audio from an iPhone for your Audi (or VW/Mercedes Benz) then you need come to the right place.

Just watch the recording below to the (what I think) is the best and most cost-effective solution out there:

You could get more information concerning the ViseeO Tune2Air here.

Does the Bluetooth Audio help iPhone Apps,

In addition to playing music from the iPhone, you can even use this solution with other iPhone apps. Here's a set of the apps that I'm using and becoming audio from your car speakers:

Apple Maps (Voice Directions)

Google Maps (Voice Directions)

Google Voice (Phone Calls)

You can't control these apps from the AMI system, so will must still control the apps in the iPhone itself.

Thanks greatly for your informative video Omer. I've just put an initial deposit down with a 2011 S5 sportback with AMI and MMI sat nav this also looks like an incredible solution for Bluetooth streaming. Scouring the Internet I see a lot of people looking for alternatives to Audi's overpriced offering.

Thanks for sharing.

omerkhan

Hi Iain. I hope it really works as well in your case as it's employed by me. And congrats on the S5 — that appears like a seriously fun ride!

Rez

Pls permit me to knw

Cheers

Rez

omerkhan

Hi Rez. Yes, this in concert with all the third party apps that I've tried to date. I updated your website post using a list of apps. If you will find there's particular app that you're interested in using for that radio, permit me to know and when I get an opportunity, I'll try it out for you in my car.

Ryan

After sifting through many forum posts I was so glad to get your article about streaming bluetooth audio to a A4. Since you seem to know what you are speaking about, would you tell me if it is possible which has a 2006 A4,

My A4 included the factory navigation unit (RNS-E), bluetooth, and contains a factory CD changer in the glovebox. The mystery piece is whether or not I can swap out your CD changer and replace with AMI inside a 2006 model. Any pointers you are able to offer will be appreciated!

omerkhan

Hi Ryan. I'm not informed about the 2006 A4, but I think the first question to ask is if it's possible to get in touch iPod/iPhone with an AMI cable within your car. If you are able to do that, then the Tune2Air works fine. You'd basically be replacing the iPod/iPhone while using Tune2Air device following the AMI cable. Also, I purchased from Amazon because of the awesome returns policy. If you buy from their store and it fails, it is possible to easily give it back.

Ryan

Thanks Omer. I've stood a difficult time locating AMI compatibility with my car. My hunch is the fact that it's possible, but possibly a costly retrofit. I just wish I could hire a company who had used it so that I could know for several.

Matthew Beeby

Thank you for posting the video. I was wondering the way the phone also connects towards the AMI Bluetooth module. I didn't think a computer can connect to two Bluetooth points. This product looks great but I desire to understand perhaps the phone functionality with the AMI screen for example caller id and make contact with book will still work.

Cheers

omerkhan

Hi Matthew. That's an excellent question and I initially had a similar concern. My iPhone connects to both — phone connects to Audi's Bluetooth system and audio connects on the Tune2Air. When I'm playing music and be given a phone call, my iPhone automatically switches to Audi's Bluetooth and provides me all the usual AMI functionality i.e. caller ID, yellow pages etc. And when I hang up the phone the call, it resumes to playing music via the Tune2Air.

Denis

Hi!

Where does one connect the AMI iPhone/iPod cable, I have Audi A6, 2010 with standart Audi Media DVD with facts slots and there is no way in order to connect that cable. Should I choose the AMI from Audi then for 200eur,

Thank You,

Denis.

omerkhan

@denis - I plug my AMI cable into my glove box (in my 2012 A4). I don't know where (or if) you can utilize this on the 2010 A6. My suggestion could be to enter your local Audi dealer and also have them check for you personally. Then you might wish to try an after-market AMI cable on Amazon first as that is to be a lot less than buying the AMI cable from Audi.

Daniel

omerkhan

@daniel - this works perfectly with my iPhone 5. I haven't tried it with a 5s, but I don't see any reasons why it would not work.

Eric

Thanks for posting. My 2013 A4 was included with the ipod cable already in glove box. I tried a 30pin device from best buy but it wouldn't recognize the unit. It only recognizes my ipod if it is connected. I use Samsung gs4 and wish to stream audio over the cable. Do you know how you can solve this challenge,

omerkhan

@eric - I'm not a professional on this, but I think maybe it's the 30 pin cable which you purchased. There are quite a few MMI cables available on Amazon and as you'll see from the reviews, most of them don't work that well. I got my cable directly from Audi, exactly like it , but I'd recommend trying another cheaper alternative before you shell out ~$70 for the cable.

Eric R.

Omar, Really well done and informative. Thank you. How about Android,

omerkhan

@eric - thanks for that feedback. I don't provide an Android phone, but was able to borrow one today (an Alcatel OneTouch). I had the product paired with both Audi BT phone and Tune2Air for music in less than a minute. I was able to play music from each of the apps that I tried i.e. Play Music” and Pandora”. I made a call using the Audi handsfree and the music paused and resumed nicely. The only thing is that I could not start to see the tracks on my MMI display, I could just stop and use next/previous controls. I had to get a song about the actual Android device to pick it. There are a couple of reviews around the Amazon product page about Android devices, so I'd suggest studying those for more information. But I hope anywhere near this much helps.

Utkarsh

Good job on the video man. I just got my A4 today so was tinkering with all the bluetooth. I have ordered the Tune2Air determined by your recommendation.

omerkhan

@utkarsh — thanks to the feedback. And enjoy a new A4! ðŸ‚

Andrew r

Thanks for that video. My real question is whether it will work with a 2014 minus the navigation package. Or is there a much better option for any 2014 without the nav package. Thanks

omerkhan

@andrew — a navigation package is just not required for your Tune2Air. I have a 2012 A4 devoid of the navigation package.

Paul

omerkhan

@paul — yes it functions but with limited functionality i.e. no problems streaming music with SoundCloud, but you can't control the app with the Audi AMI controls (aside from play/pause to volume). If you wish to change tracks, then you must do that from the iphone itself.

Nirav

Hi

Thanks for wonderful video, i simply ordered this cable for my 2011 Audi A6 but wished to confirm that if i have mp3 app that has songs will automatically play inside my car speaker or perhaps what i have inside my music library,

Thanks

Nirav

omerkhan

@nirav — thanks! Correct, I haven't found a music/audio app it doesn't stream audio from the Tune2Air (however, you'll need to control from a iPhone generally). You're not limited to just you music library.

Nirav

P.S: If i play songs in youtube through phone will the sound arises from my audi speakers, I understand that it's going to not support video playing and control through interface but desire to make sure the sound can come from speakers.

Also, Is this also carries same ground loop noise limitation,

omerkhan

@nirav — yes, it is possible to stream the audio from YouTube as well as other video too. In fact sometimes I play movies, give the kids the iPhone to watch but stream the audio over the car speakers. The audio keeps me entertained too when I can't watch the particular movie when I'm driving. 🂠There's no noticeable ground loop noise.

Nirav

thank you to your quick response, i already ordered and waiting about it now

Coby

I was shocked to learn that my new 2014 A5 Cabrio Premium Plus without nav does not have audio streaming via bluetooth despite all the other bells and whistles within the car. I am thankful that there are this easy fix, however. I'm thrilled that I can now utilize the nav on my own phone to offer voice turn by turn directions on the car's sound system (while playing music when turns aren't required). Thanks for taking the time to discuss this online.

Dan

hi Omer… will this work w/ Audi AMI but with MMI and Bluetooth (for phone use), i am not so attracted to installing AMI as I have my music while on an iPhone 5S so streaming directly in the device mounted on MMI's BT could be ideal.

CRK

Great video and write-up. I've seen it mentioned on several forums that with the 3Gen MMI, it takes some programming inside a hidden menu” that is only available having a Vag-Com cable plus some kind of software over a laptop. Supposedly, this will likely force the AMI to help remedy the iPod 30-pin cable as an Aux cable. Did you have to do this, I would want to be capable to unplug my iPod from my OEM AMI cable and plug inside Tune2Air and have it work like yours. My car is really a 2010 A3 with 3Gen MMI (Bose/Navigation Plus). Thank you on your response!

omerkhan

@CRK - I didn't need to do any programming. It was virtually just plug and play.

Mike

Hi and thanks for your video also. I have a very 2008 A4 while using 30 pin connector inside the glove box. I'm attempting to figure out your need to get a cable if I can plug the Tune2air device directly in the connector. Any thoughts,

omerkhan

@Mike - if it is possible to plug an iPhone/iPod around the end of this cable then you'll be able to connect the Tune2Air today. Just be aware that not all 3rd party cables work properly using the Tune2Air. Not sure if you're cable is produced by Audi you aren't. Good luck.

Adrian Cantu

Hi Omar, i used to be just wondering the sound quality of this thing, can it transfer a 320kb song and stream it during this rate, I want to know if the quality of sound will be good.

omerkhan

@Adrian - ought to be fine. I sometimes play HD movies for your kids on the iPhone and play the audio with the Tune2Air without problems.

Amanda

You just made my day, I had the identical exact problem!!

Thank you a lot!

Hi Guys

I have just bought a 2012 RS5 and then for some reason while I can recognise and pair my phone to Tune2air, when I plug it inside the glovebox the Media section does not recognise it - no error, nothing. I have restarted the speakers but aside from that unclear what to do! Please help!

Cheers

Sameer

Iain

Hi Sameer

Have you've got the audi ami cable while using red tag, It does not work properly, you'll need the ‘standard' one using a blue tag - I had a similar problem. The red tagged cable enables video to become played from an iPhone/ipad but doesn't use Tune2Air.

Cheers

Iain

Sameer

Hi Iain - thanks a lot so much for the reply. I'm not sure what sort of cable the actual one is, how do I check, I have another one about the way via eBay so hoping that this will be a standard one.

Can't believe this feature just isn't standard!

Iain

Hi Sameer

If you open the glove box and unplug the AMI cable through the socket in that room you should visit a coloured collar next to the plug (not the final Tune2Air is within). This is assuming your vehicle has the state Audi cable naturally. The blue will be the standard cable, the red can be an advanced media cable that will stream video but this does not use Tune2Air. I'd avoid cheaper non-Audi cables just because I have read a great deal of reviews from people complaining about construction etc.. Good luck and enjoy your car or truck!

Iain

Konstantin

That is just awesome, thank you greatly for providing this short and informative page Omer! It would have taken ages to discover a suitable device by trawling through countless eBay/Amazon results and forum threads. I just took delivery of my Audi A4 today, and the way great is it to discover such a neat and perfect strategy to this prevalent problem the very first day! Your page resulted in pretty high inside my Google search results incidentally. Really appreciate your effort mate.

Rb801

Oh my god you might be my hero. I love my Audi and I was considering paying thousands on an upgrade. Thanks to the info.

Richard

Thanks. Mine came today and took every one of 1 minute to arrange. I haven't checked the firmware version yet (although the distributor within the US said hello's current) but beware that the firmware are only able to be upgraded through windows. This would have caused a headache for me personally since I'm a Mac user.

Richard

Omar. Do you know how to fix the next, After my iPhone connects on the MMI, it seems that the Mix (Shuffle)” option for the MMI is reset. I must go into ‘Control” and reselect Mix each time I get into the car.

Thanks

admin

@Richard - no I'm sorry I don't know a fix for that. But I'm sure somebody else may have a better solution. Does anyone else have any ideas,

mahdi

hi

could it fit with and i provide an android phone

could it be work

admin

@Mahdi - please check another comment I posted here with some basic testing that I did having an Android phone. It works, however with some limitations.

Kelly Grace

Hi, I just bought this for my 2011 MB GL. Do I have to disconnect this when the car is off, or will it just sit within the glove box,

I love devoid of to plug the iPhone straight into listen to music or Audible (books on tape).

Thanks

admin

@Kelly - I never take mine out of your glove box. It just ‘works' each and every time I get inside the car. Sweet!

Thomas

Omer, might you tell me which radio system you have with your Audi, Another website selling a computer similar towards the Tune2Air indicates how the Bluetooth device work plug and play” simply with Audi 3G MMI. With MMI 2G, Audi Concert, RNS, RNS-E, Audi navigation plus, Audi Symphony radios, or any other Audi radio with AMI (Audi Music Interface) adding a lighter socket or hardwire power kits as being a separate power source is important. I just bought a 2012 A4 while using Audi Concert system. What is yours, Thanks.

admin

Richard

I contain the Audi Concert and it functions fine. Should work fine with any system which uses the Audi AMI connection.

Craig

Mine works on the 2015 A4 EXCEPT that it will not take Siri commands from my iphone. This is a big deal in my experience since I use Siri when driving to call, for directions, or play songs in my phone. Thoughts about how this can work with Siri,

Richard

I just tested this out on my own 2011 A4 with a Audi Concert radio and I also hold the issue. Did a Google search and was directed to ViseeO's Facebook page which has a possible solution. Press the Mute/Pause knob to mute playback before invoking Siri. I confirmed this fixed my trouble with Siri not working.

Amy

Thank you so much. Just bought a 2014 allsport and I was getting frustrated! Need my spotify. I'm ordering now!

I didn't notice that comment, does it use android and enable u to skip tracks a minimum of,

DarthWD56

I accept is as true does, I can give it a look and let you understand. Give me a day or two.

Freddy Girgis

Yes of u can please and permit me to know, thanks a bunch

Chris

Omer. So you disconnect Bluetooth out of your audi, and then reconnect towards the Viseeo, do you want to not receive calls through your Bluetooth, I heard at the final you stated it doesn't play around with calling, but I wasn't sure beings that you simply disconnect Bluetooth through the vehicle, this really is my only concern. Great video, I've been trying to wrap my head with this in mind for months. LOL, thanks.

Omer Khan

@Chris - my iPhone bluetooth connects to the Audi system and the Tune2Air at the same time. And it's smart enough to address calls from the Audi connection and the audio/music with the Tune2Air connection. So once it's setup, you don't have to worry about it.

Curt Morris

Hi Omer, I received my Tune2Air today and it truely does work in the sense that I can be a musician from my iTunes but I can't play the guitar through Spotify. I'm aware that the Audi Concert controls will not likely work and I need to control Spotify over the phone, but when I play a song I can't hear any audio. Interesting enough, when I select Play Next” in the Audi Concert Controls it'll skip for the next song on my small Spotify playlist. How are you capable to get other apps besides iTunes Music to function,

Guest

@curtmorris:disqus - I didn't a single thing special to arrange Spotify — it worked. I tried again today (when the latest app update created issues) but it's still working fine.

What happens when you try to try out a song from Spotify, Does it appear to be the track is really playing i.e. you'll be able to see the timeline with the track or do you hit the play button then after a second or two it really stops,

Omer Khan

@curtmorris:disqus - I didn't do anything special to put together Spotify — it simply worked. I tried again today (if your latest app update created issues) nonetheless it's still working fine.

What occurs you try to experience a song from Spotify, Does it appear to be the track is really playing i.e. it is possible to see the timeline from the track or would you hit the play button and after that after a second or two it simply stops,

Curt Morris

I tried again, this time around I started Spotify prior to the AMI initialized the product and started playing and yes it worked perfectly. Not sure what went wrong for the first attempt; the Spotify track was playing, you simply couldn't hear any audio. Could have been an issue/bug while using app or it may have been user error on my own part.

Waqar Hussain

I've purchased a WMA2000 however when I connect it, it flashes 5 times altogether then stops flashing at all…

Omer Khan

Can you see the Tune2Air device whenever you look for bluetooth devices from a phone,

Waqar Hussain

Yeah, limited to about ten seconds then it says this ðŸ

Waqar Hussain

Pairing unsuccessful

Make sure tune2air” is started up, in range and able to pair

MarkM22

I have a 2008 Audi A4 with the MM a wheel this device use that, When I plug my iPod in it works however it doesn't display track titles just a number.

sameer

Mine is working together with iphone although not Android…. Both find and hook up to bluetooth not an issue but the MMI doesn't recognize when utilizing Android…any tips,

tnuis

Hello Omar,

One question, The way you have the setup now, will the background music automatically mute in the event the iphone turns into a call,

Omer Khan

@tnuis - it won't mute the music. It pauses the songs and resumes from exactly where the music was playing when you received the decision. So that's a lot better than just muting the songs - particularly when you're hearing podcasts or audiobooks.

Ralph D'Mello

Hey Omar, quick question.

When I try to stream Spotify with Tune2air, it doesn't display the track around the screen and it does not allow me to control the amount. This may happen sometime as well as other times it really works just fine. Has anyone encountered this challenge or can it be just me, does anyone know a work around it,

Omer Khan

Hi Ralph — yes, this is really a common issue when playing music from 3rd party apps for example Spotify. Unfortunately, the one reliable method to use Spotify is to control it from your phone.

Kit Vandervort

So this solution also lets you stream audio using Spotify and similar apps,

I only ask when your video only shows the inner storage features of the iPhone (Songs, Podcasts, etc.) and doesn't necessarily demonstrate the ViseeO device will allow streaming of music through internet.

If this certainly does work, which Audi AMI menus are widely-used to facilitate it,

Thanks!

EDIT: I have read some of the comments below, and it feels like this should work fine. But I am still curious how this displays on the AMI's screen. Does it really work if you press the Media” button for the AMI,

Omer Khan

Hi Kit — the typical consensus to date is that you just won't have problems playing music from apps such as Spotify. But you'll need to control that from your phone i.e. the display for the AMI screen is hit & miss i.e. perhaps you see the name with the track as well as other times you'll not. There doesn't seem to be a reliable approach to control this from the AMI screen — but no problems controlling/playing in the phone.

Kit Vandervort

Hey Omer, thanks to the response. That's great, I've been hunting for a way to stream audio to my 2011 Audi A3 for the long time now. Thanks for alerting us to this particular little device! I'll probably grab one within the next few weeks.

Kobuz@s

Hi Omer. I am just wondering, can I stream music through this device to my Audi A5, if I am using Tune-in radio app on my own iPhone5, Thx!

Omer Khan

Hi — this would work fine together with your A5. There are a few individuals that I know are utilizing it making use of their A5 or S5. The Tune-In app should also assist the caveat that you just most likely won't be able to control anything from your AMI menu apart from volume and pause.

pmoosman

I just bought and installed the WMA-3000 in my 2010 Audi Q5 and everything works great. Except one problem. Every few seconds/minutes it clicks (click, skip, cut out, something of that nature). Has anybody else experienced this challenge,

Omer Khan

I a similar problem when I upgraded from an iPhone 5 for an iPhone 6. But the similar appeared to go away after I downloaded one with the iOS updates for that iPhone.

pmoosman

Thanks for your reply. My iPhone 6's software program is up-to-date (8.1.2). However, I just tried my daughter iPhone 4 and it worked fine. So, there needs to be problem with my iPhone 6 software/hardware. I'll speak with Apple.

findchris

pmoosman

I went to the Apple Store today and they ran some tests on my own phone. They figured that there was a software issue”. They reset my phone (I'm not sure exactly what they did to reset it. Perhaps erase everything then restore as new. I'm not sure if they did another software update - they plugged it into another computer at some point.). Anyway. Good news! It now works minus the cutting out/skipping. Yeah!

At some time at the store, they tested Air Drop”. Which prior to the reset took a very long time (30 seconds) to transfer an image. After the reset, the photo took 2 seconds. That is how he proved how the bluetooth was bust well.

Omer Khan

Thanks for sharing your experience. I'm sure this will be necessary to other people who might also have similar issues while using audio eliminating/skipping.

pmoosman

My reducing/skipping is back. I did some testing and I think I only have the cutting out when my iPhone is paired with the car's bluetooth phone along with the Tune2Air. I plan to do some more testing.

Omer Khan

@pmoosman:disqus - thanks for your update. I actually spoke having a ‘genius' when I was within my local Apple Store a week ago. He said that this can be a known issue plus they don't have a fix for it yet. He said that it won't impact all iPhones. He suggested trying certain things — (a) changing the your iPhone which may sometimes help if your last phone had a similar name and it is confusing the BT connection or (b) reset all settings on your own phone under settings. If the two workarounds don't do the trick then he said you'd need to wait for that official fix to become released.

Adam Kensington

Yes I have exactly the identical issue, if you un pair the Audi Bluetooth Phone Audio then it functions perfectly - but if you have both connected immediately it omits randomly. Super annoying I have a 2011 Audi S5 with the 3G MMI. I stood a tuen2air 1000 and simply updated with a WMA 3000 incase it fixed it - NOPE. and it makes no difference which iPhone I used (I tried several) - same problem all the time. Has anyone found a means to fix this,

AC

Omer, I possess a 2007 A6 while using MMI 2. I have no Media or other audio ports. I noticed with your video that this setting screen was Media”. I have checked out other solutions that you replace the in glove-box Multi-Disk changer using the cabling to perform the solution. In your video you used an Audi Audio connection towards the glove box”. Do the newer Audi's possess a port inside glove box to hook up to, Thanks ahead of time. Also, I will hook up to a HTC One Android device. Anyone successful yet with all the Android's,

AC

Omer Khan

AC - My 2012 A4 comes with an ‘iPod interface' inside glove box. That's what I'm connecting the Tune2Air device to. Is there a way to suit your needs to plug an iPod/iPhone which has a cable in your car, As for Android take a look comment ( -bluetooth-audio-from-iphone-to-audi/#comment-1556548531 ) on some basic testing I did. There are other comments in here about Android too which you need to check out too.

AC

I do not believe I have that port. As I've researched it appears that this devices I am finding are suggesting to use the fiber optic cabling that is certainly now used to the CD. The MMI would be on CD to produce this work. It is faking” out your car. These devices probably will work as I do not use my disk changer in any way.

Thanks,

Brian Johnston

2008 Audi A6 (I believe 2G MMI) and iPhone 6… Which model and cables (if necessary) do I need, Thanks

Omer Khan

You need an Audi MMI cable using a 30 pin connection to iPhone/iPod (not just a lightning commection as you use for the iPhone 6).

Brian Johnston

Thanks for that response! WMA1000 or WMA3000 and the Audi MMI cable listed above on your Amazon link..,

Omer Khan

I haven't tested the WMA3000. The WMA1000 can be a safe bet and I apply it everyday in my 2012 A4 having an iPhone 6. The cable really depends on your automobile so I can't say definitely which one is right in your case. But don't go for that cheapest cables — a great deal of individuals have reported issues with those. I just got mine from an Audi dealer.

michael moszynski

Hi. I offer an Audi A4 2005. Does this hold the ability in order to connect the AMI cable inside, Thanks is for the great video. Michael

Omer Khan

Michael — should your cable connects to some regular 30-pin connection by using an iPod/iPhone3/4, then it is going to also hook up with this Tune2Air device.

Jeff Albertson

Hi Omar, I have a very 2013 A4 with Tune2AirWMA1000. It worked well with my iPhone 5, and for any while with my iPhone 6. But now I consistently receive the message from the AMI that the device cannot be read.” I reset my phone also it worked again, then a next day was out again, So unsure what's happening. Should I upgrade to WMA3000A,

Omer Khan

Hi Jeff — if his was working together with your iPhone 5, then it suggests that maybe it's a problem using your iPhone 6. Have you tried forgetting/repairing to the Tune2Air tool and making sure that the iOS software programs are up to date: -us/TS4562

Omer Khan

If that fails - then you may need to take it into your local Apple Store. See @pmoosman:disqus's comments below. He got Apple to solve the issue for him. I don't think upgrading to the WMA300A will solve your condition either. As far as I know, that's basically the same as the WMA1000 with the integrated cable.

Ashley

I have been looking across for something to stream my music! I have 1 question, can I scroll through my music from my phone rather than my radio,

Omer Khan

@Ashley — yes, it is possible to browse through music on the phone while you normally would do, but you'll hear the audio from the car speakers before you disconnect the bluetooth connection.

Tom Fermanian

Hi Omer!

Thanks for excellent video !just bought unit from Amazon

Will need this for used Audi A5 year 2010 cabriolet which I'm receiving in the near future. I neglected to check in Audi glove box of cable can there be, Was this included (cable) in Audi car or can it be a separate additional, If add on , which cable should I order from Amazon because of this, this may be to connect an IPhone 6 ,thanks Tom

Omer Khan

@tomfermanian:disqus - thanks for your feedback. The cable is usually an add-on. Your best bet is usually to get an ‘official' Audi cable from a local here or here As you can see the cable isn't cheap. That's the one I have and also have never had any difficulties with it. You can also try your luck with a alternative party cable like this one These can get hit or miss — they seem to get less reliable (determined by feedback I've received and comments with this page) but may work in your case. And remember, you're searching for a cable which has a 30-pin connector that plugs into iPhone 3 & 4 models — since that's the connection for the Tune2Air. Don't get any cable that suits your iPhone 6 since which don't help you while using Tune2Air. I hope that helps and I we do hope you enjoy your cabriolet!

Tom Fermanian

Omer! Thanks for your prompt answer will follow your advice and give you news once I get everything setup thank you again cheers. Tom

Tom Fermanian

Good evening Omar, just thought I'd Chime in with Tune2Air, Had difficulties with unit (Iphone 6) taking time to be recognized, Turned IPhone completely off, Unplugged tune2air then back to Normal….Seems that Tune2air is ‘On' all of the time ,,, despite car switched off…

Other problem, When you take a look at Audi MMI screen certain songs exist with playlists etc., When you have a look at In dash display next to speedometer screen ,controlling functions with tire controls, You see different songs between speedo display and center dash display,,,

Would you recommend an alternative tune2air,,I possess the 1000 model now…

Also, i've erased tue2air on Car and reset it, did the same with iphone6

Thanks on your valued input! Cheers Tom

Omer Khan

Tom — what app do you think you're using when the thing is that the different listing of songs being displayed. I get this a good deal with third-party apps, but using Apple's own Music app continues to be pretty reliable for me to date.

Tom Fermanian

Good evening Omar! Using straight Iphone Music App, I've read someplace in Amazon comments that someone else was praoclaiming that MMI was getting confused ,,,, giving problems enunciated above…. Could an alternative tune2air model make a difference with an Iphone 6 ,,,,

Omer Khan

Tom - I haven't seen these complaints. Let me do a little digging too and see if I can come up having a solution. No promises — but I'll try. ðŸ‚

Tom Fermanian

Thanks! If you look in Amazon ratings for Tune2Air, This problem was described by someone ,, looks just like what I'm experiencing

Tom Fermanian

Omer good Evening, took delivery of my slightly used Audi a5 2010 cabriolet It finally had AMI RED grommet cable,,, Tried to plug Visee tune2 , nothing dead , Would not flash or recognize unit ,, Plugged unplugged cable, tried with Key contact on / off still nothing, reset Ami in setup still nothing, Tried plugging in Iphone 6 with Apple lightning adapter, nothing, Have another cable on order , What does one think ,,,, Tom

Omer Khan

@tomfermanian:disqus - does one have access to a iPhone a few (or iPod using the same connection) that you could plug into that cable, it could help us determine if the situation is with the cable or even the Tune2Air. Also, if you have an old Apple cable that plugs to the Tune2Air, then that might be worth wanting to see in the event the light comes on (again if it doesn't, that might be a defective Tune2Air device).

Tom Fermanian

Good morning! This is what I've done up to now. A) have got friends IPhone 4s. With its charging cable plugged Tune2air device IT LIT UP !

B) took Iphone 4 plugged it right to AMI (concert) cable in Audi. NOT RECOGNIZED,

Retried with power on / off (car) still nothing,

Have at office cable purchased in Amazon Audi compatible, Will try that next…

Tom Fermanian

Omer! Good news! Replaced AMI cable with brand new one from Amazon. Tune2air lit up attached to Audi Concert music streamed! Yes!

Then tried Bluetooth iPhone 6 call, Tune2air faded music , did my call ,ended call then Tune2air streamed music flawlessly.

Yes.

Guess red banded cable defective or not good,,,,

Cheers. Tom

Omer Khan

@tomfermanian:disqus - great news! I'm glad I may help. Would you be kind enough to express the link to the cable that you just purchased from Amazon here, I'm sure it will be helpful for other folks looking to buy a cable.

Tom Fermanian

Reasonable enough… Under 20$ Canadian…

Hi Omer - I a good look through your comments and couldn't find a response so sorry if this sounds like a repeat - I possess a 2009 Audi TTS while using older Audi Concert (basic orange letterbox display) - as well as the car doesn't possess a phone Bluetooth. The Tune 2 Air is plugged directly to the 30 pin connector inside glove box.

I aren't getting any song title information around the display then when I call people the tune 2 air wont so it can gain - e.g. I was hoping I could utilize microphone inside the iphone along with the audio would still carry from the tune 2 air.. Any ideas!,, Could the not enough song info / call function be because I'm not using an AMI cable,, Many Thanks, Simon

Just to triple check, this device works on a 2010 Audi A4 and may play spotify,

Hi Omer. I was wondering should you could help. I am thinking about upgrading for the Tune2Air Device. I currently have a 2012 Audi S5 Prestige edition. Which is annoying that bluetooth audio isn't included already, but thats a whole other discussion. I have got a new few different bluetooth streaming 30 pin adapters and have the cable needed. The audio streams perfectly with all the devices, but I am start to go insane because the audio is actually skipping”. It appears like an old portable CD player once the antiskip isn't working!!! Haha! Its enough to operate a vehicle you crazy. I can't manage to figure out with all the problem is. I have tried other phones and bluetooth adapters. Many models of iPhones. I even researched online plus some people said that should you turn over wifi, who's would correct it. I would say that it is maybe slightly better, however, not fixed. I can't that is amazing would make much difference because I have wireless beats headphones as well as other bluetooth speakers that work perfect with my phone, even using the phone wifi on. I am thinking about upgrading to this revolutionary product, but I wanted to ask if you have experienced exactly the same problem by accident or should you know an answer. It is so frustrating. Thank you sooo much in advance to your help!

Omer Khan

@disqus_9BuPJyHmOC:disqus — take a have a look at these comments further down these pages: -bluetooth-audio-from-iphone-to-audi/#comment-1763923091 They may help you using your problem. It sounds just like what other folks have reported — bottom line, it is a known trouble with Apple nonetheless they don't possess a definitive fix for it. But some of the workaround mentioned below can assist you.

Cleber Portaro

I possess the most challenger answer ever… hehe… I use a Audi A3 sportback (2007) having a iPod connection in the glover, and also use a iPhone 6. Is there any Tune2Air that really work's personally,

Omer Khan

If the cable with your glovebox has a 30 pin connection (NOT the lightning connection you have to your iPhone 6) then your Tune2Air I've listed above with this page should work perfectly.

Tom Fermanian

Omer good evening, just some feedback, I'd installed The Tune 2 module about about 6 weeks ago but car was garaged till now,

Got into to car started and Phone synced ok, Some other times after shutdown of car , I get Get back in and Audi Concert consumes to 2 minutes to re- synchronize displaying message ”Wait re synchronizing ,, any clues ,,, Thanks Tom

Omer Khan

Tom — have you tried restarting your phone and unplugging/plugging back the Tune2Air. I saw a similar delay once, however it disappeared when I restarted my iphone.

Tom Fermanian

Hi, yes restarted Phone ,fixed it, Have not unplugged tune2 yet… will advise… Thanks !

Pop123

I possess a 2013 A4 and got the tune2air. I plugged it in and also the light activates and I can pair it with my phone, but also for some reason the AMI won't notice that something is connected. I was wondering should you experienced this or recognize any solutions, I tried these devices on a portable speaker plus it is function and streaming music.

Omer Khan

Pop123

Thank you for your reply, you're right it could be the cable. Just ordered a brand new one

David W. Allen

Hi Omer, you taught me to be 6 months ago when I got my Audi and wanted to stream my iPhone. But I switched the Android, and I'm lost again. What product is most effective, Thank you

Omer Khan

David — I don't have recommendations for the product created specifically for Android. The Tune2Air should still assist your Android device, albeit with limited functionality.

Virginia

I possess the Tune2Air and it functions with my 2012 A5. Hooray! Except the sound cuts out/skips frequently. Any ideas, Thanks.

Matthew B

I have recently purchased and is working well, however I possess a question on how to stop music playing in the device. My issue is that there will be times I just need to hear the navigation app and not the songs/podcasts/spotify, etc

What I am currently experiencing is once I connect via bluetooth, music, etc automatically starts and when I attempt to pause, it restarts playing about 2-3 seconds later. Even if I close the spotify, music apps, similar to podcasts can play. I would have expected pressing pause around the device to operate.

Is anybody else experiencing this and may have a fix.

Omer Khan

Matthew - I don't have a clear cut solution because of this. If the sound is upsetting something else that I wish to do about the phone e.g. play a YouTube video (when I'm not driving :-)) then this only solution I've found is usually to turn off Bluetooth in my phone. It's pretty simple with the iPhone using the Control Center ( -au/HT202769 ) i.e. swipe up and close Bluetooth. However, in other instances e.g. using Google Maps app for driving directions, I've found that this apps ‘play nicely' e.g. my music gets refused automatically when I need to hear voice directions. I hope that helps.

Matthew B

Thanks Omer, I appreciate the short response. Are you capable to use Google Maps without music - I share a similar experience where the background music will lower when hearing directions, but at times it could be good to possess no music and hear the directions.

Certainly not really a deal breaker, but an issue that I hope to repair a way around. Thanks again.

Omer Khan

Matthew - I haven't been capable of turn the music activity off completely. Both Google Maps and Apple Maps will lower the songs when providing voice directions. For some reason the Apple Maps app sounds clearer, but I trust Google Maps directions more. ðŸ‚

John Philip

Hello I have a 2011 Mercedes GL550 and was wondering if there was clearly any difference involving the tune2air wma1000 vs wma3000 in terms of audio quality, bluetooth version or technology. I know the wma3000 gets the built in MMI cable but other than that some other differences, Thank you!

Omer Khan

John - As far as I know the WMA3000 is merely a WMA1000 having an integrated cable. I'm not aware of any specific advantages in terms of features or functionality.

Chris

I possess a 08 Audi A4 using the symphony radio without blue tooth but I hold the 30 pin connector inside my glove box will this Tune2air device still work

Gurbar

Hi there, I desired to know if this type of will work with my iPhone 6, I possess a 2011 Audi Q7 without navigation and wondered if this will use it.

Omer Khan

Yes. But remember to acquire an MMI cable on your Audi that has a 30 pin connection i.e. the connection you'd need to have an iPhone 4. You'll be connecting that cable with your glovebox on the Tune2Air, not your iPhone 6.

Gurbar

My Audi did come which has a stock cable that connects to iPhone 4/4S, will that actually work or am I planning to need a whole new custom cable,

Dave

I contain the tune2air inside my A6, nevertheless the volume is low. when I switch towards the tune2air I must turn the degree up significantly to listen to it. can you know why,

Terry Tremarco Krongold

Hi, Omer. I possess a 2009 A4 Quattro Convertible with MMI & 6 CD changer in glove box (I bought pre-owned). Do you know if there is a connector inside the glove box with this type of set-up, I've looked around but don't see one. This will be the perfect answer if there is really a connector! Thanks!

Omer Khan

Terry - I'm not a professional on this stuff, but if you might have a connection it will be in your glove box. Maybe it's hidden behind a protective cover plate. Maybe this image may help:

Hi, Omer. Thanks on your reply & the photo. I stopped at the Audi dealer today & there is absolutely no AUX outlet during my car (due for the CD player). They said they could install an outlet but they ought to take your entire glove box out & it would be about $300 (a tad too pricey). Ridiculous that Audi would not include the AUX even if you've got the CD player. So I think I am stuck, but thanks for attempting to help!

RobertTheChemist

Hey Omer, So My audi already has an Ipod dock attached to it. That is I bought the MMI cable to discover the female portion will not fit your piece within my car, I can plug my ipod directly into the dock. My real question is, does one or the rest from the people for this thread, use a male connection that does not fit an ipod directly and is always that why the MMI cable is required, I ask because I tried to merely connect a simple bluetooth adapter though the system wouldn't recognize it as being connected. WIll the Tune2air trick” the stereo into thinking a music player is connected, and enable the CD option to be selected, or is this what the MMI cable does. Essentially, could it be the cable or perhaps the Tune2air that is having it recognize an ipod has been connected, thanks for taking the time.

Robert

Omer Khan

Hi Robert - Yes, while using Tune2Air, you're basically ‘tricking' the device as if an iPod was plugged to the cable. Most folks desire a cable his or her plugging into the port of their glovebox. I'm uncertain if the Tune2Air works being plugged directly inside your iPod dock. Maybe another person might be in a position to chime in should they're already doing that successfully.

Gabriel

I have a 2008 A4 (B7) no nav with iPod dock inside glove box. Plugging the Tune2Air (WMA1000) directly in the iPod dock works great. You may have to turn up the iPhone volume. No problems with my iPhone 6S Plus with iOS 9.0.2.

Jimmy D

I possess a 2011 audi A4. I purchased the 30 pin cable as well as the tune2air however when I hook it up (after initializing for quite a while) this doesn't happen recognise the unit. Is there something I am missing or could try,

Omer Khan

The concern is most likely using the cable your connecting to the Tune2Air. You might have to try another cable. Take a have a look at this comment further down -

Jimmy D

Thanks for that reply Omar.

I have tried a genuine Audi cable but it will be as old since the car (2011) and in addition one I ordered off of the internet (not genuine audi). Neither been employed by. I will go towards the dealer and provide it one final try. Fingers crossed they find the perfect solution!

Matthew Heinemeyer

Just got this device as well as the sound if HORRIBLE. It is actually worse than those old AM/FM tuner devices inside the late 90s. No matter what I do, the music from my iPhone plays only in mono and around the left with the car. My manual volume has to become at 10 only to start hearing the background music. I am SUPER disappointed, feel duped and am wondering if anyone has any suggestions.

Omer Khan

Matthew — it appears like either these devices or the cable you're connecting with it are faulty. The sound quality of mine is as good as if I'd plugged my iPhone directly. Did you purchase this from Amazon, If so, you needs to be able to give it back for a 100 % refund. However, before you return the device, you might wish to try purchasing another cable (see this comment ). 90% of the time, the difficulties I've seen are related to some low quality/cheap cable and not the unit itself.

safi

I possess a 2008 a8 and I bought the 3000 model and connected it directly nevertheless it doesn't even turn for the tune2 air device whatsoever

Hi Omer

I own an Audi A6 2010 model which has MMI 3G low I guess. It does have Cd changer and AMI with SD slots but I couldn't get the AMI port for connecting this viseeo tune2Air stuff. Please help…

Ricardo Nesmith

Does this gadget support the latest iOS 8.4 update. I come with an 2012 Audi S5.

Richard

It is supported. I found if you tune in to audio books, once connected, music wants to experience even though I'm listening to a audio book, so I must start for the iPhone to listen towards the audio book. Audio book tracks are display correctly about the mmi

Hello, I just received the tune2air today although it does work, this doesn't happen seem to such as the shuffle feature too much on my own iPhone 6. It seems that whenever I hit the subsequent track button for the car system, it's going back on the very first song/album alphabetically. The car is often a 2012 Audi A4. Any tips on why it does that, Love the automobile but extremely disappointed inside music capabilities, especially since I originated a Honda Civic that is leaps and bounds higher than the Audi within this department. Thanks!

Mike B

Nevermind, I found a remedy. Instead of hitting shuffle inside the music app around the phone, it is possible to use the shuffle in the mmi. To do this, on the mmi, check out Control -> mix (shuffle). Kinda weird this works but shuffle from the phone doesn't! Hope this helps somebody else.

Richard

Yup. I had a similar issue. Always started on the 1st song from your 1st artist. quite annoying. Also looks like the Shuffle setting is not remembered and needs to get set every time the phone reconnects.

Mike

Hi Omer,

My Viseeo worked approximately a day and a half perfectly inside my A4 and then I ran into a store, returned out and started the car again as well as the MMI won't recognize the product. I have read your comments regarding the wire, but mine can be a factory Audi wire that definitely worked the first few days but still works to get in touch an iPod. Any idea how I can get it to acknowledge my Viseeo Tune2air again,,,

Omer Khan

Unplug the Tune2Air to get a minute after which plug back. Also try restarting your iPhone.

Mike

Thanks for the reply. Unplugged a couple of times w the identical result. Got it to function by disconnecting my phone's bluetooth from the Viseeo after which reconnecting (even although the car still stated it was not recognizing any devices!). Once linked to bluetooth again, the auto recognized the device. Not sure it is often a permanent fix. Will check it out within the next few days and report back in case anybody else is having this matter.

Richard

When funkiness happens, rebooting the iPhone usually clears things up

Freddy Girgis

Can you connect an android with it and be able to skip tracks using pandora as an example,

afnoseda

Omer, I am about to buy the Tune2air but heard about incompatibility with I0S 8.x +. Any insights , Thanks.

It is supported. I found that if you hear audio books, once connected, music wants to learn even though I'm playing a audio book, so I have to start around the iPhone to listen on the audio book. Audio book tracks display correctly about the ami

Hi Omer, I am having difficulty connecting my iPhone 6 while using most resent update I0S 9.0.1. It says that the device cannot be read. Can you explain what exactly you mean by listening with an audio book,

When I pause music it resumes playing from a second. iOS 8 iPhone 6. Same with podcasts or audiobooks. How can I obtain it to stop and stay paused,

Tara

Is it true which it stops working if your iPhone is updated past 8.1, My iPhone 6 is updated to iOS 9.1 and I don't desire to buy this for my 2011 A4 if it won't work..

Matthew Barnickle

That would seem being the case. Mine was working fine for approximately a year, and within the last few weeks it suddenly stopped some” functions. It still connects and displays playlists, however, you cannot control the device/playlist/fwd/rev from the vehicle controls. You must use your phone controls. To make matters worse, the MMI display doesn't update if you control the music through the phone (it never did), hence the vehicle shows a different song playing than is playing.

I'm planning to wait a week or two for the firmware update and if it doesn't come I'll dump this thing and workout another solution… C'mon ViseeO, it's time to support your products or services.

As an aside, don't bother asking for support. It nearly doesn't exist.

Richard

I gave up on this once I went to my 6s and iOS 9. I got a 30 pin to lightning adaptor and also on Amazon found s lightning extension cable. In my A4 I drilled a tiny hole inside glove compartment and brought the lightning cable over the console where I placed my iPhone holder. Works far better :-). There is zero support with this product. Not even a reply for the email I sent them using the issues when I attended iOS 9.

Thank you Omer for making a real useful video. Will it stream songs from Internet FM stations which I have installed on my Iphone,

Yes - it's going to stream audio from most apps (by incorporating limitations). I've listed details of the apps that I've personally tested in the bottom of your site post.

So how can you ‘pair' both glove box Bluetooth receiver tune 2 air at a similar time since the Bluetooth for that phone calls, These are two separate connections for two main different functions

Omer Khan

iPhones are equipped for connecting to two separate bluetooth connections at the same time — as long as you are for audio and also the other is good for phone.

David

Hi Omer, I bought these devices on Amazon in your recommendation, connected it to my AMI cable but are only able to access music around the phone, just such as the iPod i used to have within the glovebox connected directly for the AMI. Your video doesn't show the best way to control music in the phone, any comments,

Many thanks ahead of time. DTW

Omer Khan

David - I'm not clear what problem you're attempting to solve. You said that you simply ‘is only able to access music around the phone' which suggested that the bluetooth phone wasn't working. But then you ask ‘how to control music in the phone'. Can you clarify,

Anthony

Hi Omar, I think I'm having a similar issue as David. I are only able to play iTunes downloaded music it certainly can't allow me play spotty, any ideas, Anthony

Sorry if I was not clear. The music for the phone is playing successfully through Bluetooth and is also being controlled with the Audi Mimi system but I need to stream Amazon, Pandora etc.

Hi Omer. I disconnected and reconnected everything plus it now works. Yay! Thank you

Omer, thank you a lot for finding the time to make the movie. Very helpful, I will acquire one (probably WMA3000A). Before performing it: I offer an Audi Q7 from 2011 but I am in Europe (the vehicle is produced in Germany), and my aim is for connecting my iPhone 6+ (iOS 9.2.1) to be in a position to listen to music. Should I worry about any compatibility issues, do you have any idea if there any difference within the MMI software of Audi in Europe vs USA, I don't need to spend $124 for nothing. Otherwise I checked the connection within the glove compartment and the screen (AMI appears around the screen however, not available”), everything seems to get similar in your movie. Thanks.

Omer Khan

You should not bother about compatibility issues. I'm uncertain where in Europe you happen to be, but I can begin to see the Tune2Air WMA3000A is listed on (German site). So I'm sure it's also available from Amazon in other European countries.

If you find the product from Amazon and it doesn't work, they will refund your full purchase amount including shipping costs. They even pay shipping costs to suit your needs to send the faulty item to them. So you might have nothing to lose.

Secondly, most of the people who have problems with this device often purchase a cheap after market AMI cable which in turn causes problems. If you have an official Audi AMI cable you happen to be good. If you don't, then search these comments where I recommend and share links for any couple of after market AMI cables from Amazon which I know been employed for most of the people.

AG

Thanks a lot for the prompt answer. I am situated in Romania. I was checking ViseeO site and also the WMA3000A model contains the AM/MDI connector.

Hi Omer can there be any method to

Convert my iPhone docking port on dash so that I can connect my android phone and be a musician through my radio. I was hoping that I could connect my phone using an aux port but there isn't one about the console or around the 6cd multi changer in glove compartment I also desired to use my phone to learn digital radio from the audi radio aswell

I possess a audi s3 57 with sat nav system

Thanks

Mike Perusse

Omer, I was curious if being capable to upgrade firmware for the WMA1000 has allowed that you maintain the identical functionality as once you first first got it, I possess a WMA3000 with a 2009 audi a4 and it seems being slowly losing it's ability to control my iphone 6s with latest ios. At this point the system will see my phone and load the songs folders but won't autoplay. I have to either start the music activity playing from the phone itself or fool it into playing by hitting go forward or rewind in the MMI controls. I'm with the WMA1000 but simply wasn't sure if there are updates to keep up functionality.

Thanks.

Omer Khan

Hey Mike - I've seen a few ‘glitches' every now and then with iOS updates, but I haven't needed to much besides restart my iPhone once in while.

1. First look at the ‘basics'

- Restart your iPhone (I'm assuming you're utilizing an iphone)

- ‘Forget' the Bluetooth connection with the Tune2Air and re-pair

2. Try another smartphone

3. Try another cable
