We regularly receive calls from upset iPhone owners telling us that their iPhone 4 has just died and will not turn on, charge, boot or react to them in any way. We seem to have discovered a nice and easy solution that works most of the time. The way to fix your problem is to simply do a hard reset on the iPhone. We are not sure what creates this problem it appears to occur quite often.
We think it is a bug in the iPhone software that just makes the phone completely freeze working now and then. If this tactic does not fix the issue then you take the iPhone in to your service provider if it's under warranty. If it is not, take it to a reputable iPhone repair centre. In order to avoid having this problem, it is recommended that you always keep your iPhone updated on the latest iOS software as each new release contains many bug fixes.
Apple is continually striving to have the most stable cellular phone operating system available. Apparently the same happens with 'is', except that word is changed to 'I.S'. The company had already addressed a similar bug that turned the letter I into a question mark in a box. Prior to the iOS 11.1.1 update if you typed the letter I it would autocorrect to an exclamation mark within a box.
Initially, Apple offered the following fix, although the subsequent iOS 11.1.1 update should fix the issue. 2. Tap on Text Replacement. 4. Type I for Phrase. 5. Type i for Shortcut. The same fix should work for the I.T autocorrect bug, just choose 'it' for Phrase, and type 'it' for the shortcut. Alternatively, you can use a third party keyboard or turn off predictive text. It is thought that the I issue is linked to an emoji as those people affected have an I character appearing in their frequently used emojis.
