Many users have complained of slow performance of their iPhone and iPad; sometimes, Wi-Fi connection or mobile data is not working on the devices. The entire process of restoring your iOS device includes multiple small tasks, which include backing up your iPhone/iPad, resetting your iOS device, erasing your iPhone, restoring the phone via iCloud & iTunes, and finally setting up your iPhone as new. Regular backup of your iPhone or iPad is necessary if you want to keep your devices in good health. By using iCloud, you can set up a backup schedule every 24 hours; or you can take backup when you connect your device with iTunes. There are two ways you can backup your iPhone or iPad.
We have listed both methods to backup your iPhone and iPad with iTunes or iCloud. To restore your iPhone or iPad from backup, you need to erase all your contents and settings. Remember that you will lose all your data which is not synced in iCloud or any cloud service. You will retain following data when you log in with iCloud account to set up your device as new. Records of purchased apps and app data (any app will not download automatically, but you can go to App Store → Updates → Purchased to restore them on an app-by-app basis).
If you have subscribed to Apple Music, you can retain all songs, albums etc. Or you can re-download your purchased music from the Music app. If you have enabled iCloud Keychain, you can save your Safari bookmarks and passwords. 1: Open Settings on your iPhone. 2: Tap on General. 3: Next, scroll down to the bottom and tap on Reset.
4: Tap on Erase All Content and Settings. You may be prompted to enter your passcode to confirm your action. After this, all contents and settings will be erased on your iPhone, which is now ready to be setup. 1: Press Home button upon seeing ‘Hello’ screen on your iPhone.
2: Choose a language. 3: Next, you need to choose a country or region. 4: Select a Wi-Fi network and sign into the network. 5: Enable/Disable Location Services. 6: Set up your Touch ID. 7: When you reach ‘Apps and Data’ screen, tap on Restore from iCloud Backup. 8: Type in your Apple ID and password here.
9: Agree to the Terms and Conditions. 10: Finally, you have to select the backup you want to use. Tap Show all backups to see older backups stored in iCloud. You can try to use older backup to solve the issue, but note that if you use older backup, you may not restore data you gathered since then.
Before you restore your iOS device using iTunes, you need to manually disable Find My iPhone. Settings → iCloud → Find My iPhone → toggle Find My iPhone OFF. By resting your iPhone/iPad using iTunes can restore your phone’s contacts, calendars, notes, text messages, and settings but not firmware. 1: Connect your iPhone/iPad with your computer via lightning cable. 2: Open iTunes on your computer.
3: Now click on the device icon from the upper left corner of iTunes screen. 4: Next, click on Summary icon from the left navigation panel. 5: You need to ensure that the box is checked for automatically backing up to This computer. If your iPhone or iPad was not set to backup to your computer, you should restore your device using iCloud.
6: Here, you should click on Restore Backup. 7: When you see the options, you need to choose your device and click Restore. 8: You may be prompted to enter the password to unlock your iPhone backup. The above two methods should solve the problems on your iPhone or iPad.
