How to Set up a Gmail Account on the iPhone. Among the Internet services available on the iPhone is the ability to send and receive email. If you already use Gmail for your email needs or would like to sign up for a new account, you can easily use your account on both the iPhone and your computer. There are a few necessary steps to complete in order to set up your account. Create a Gmail account, if you do not already have one, on the Gmail website (see Resources below).
You will be asked to enter your first and last name, a login name and password of your choice and a security question so that Gmail can ask you to verify your identity if you ever forget your password. Read the "Terms of Service" thoroughly and, if you agree, click on "I accept. Create my account," at which point your account will be ready to use. Log into your Gmail account using your login name and password.
Click on "Settings" in the main menu and then click on "Forwarding and POP/IMAP." You will need to enable IMAP, or The Internet Message Access Protocol, in order to set up access to your Gmail account on the iPhone. Scroll down to the "IMAP Access" settings and click on button next to the "Enable IMAP" option. Press "Save Changes" and log out of your Gmail account.
Configure your IMAP settings on your iPhone. Check to make sure that the "IMAP" menu is highlighted. You will also be asked to enter your password so that you will not need to type it in every time you want to check your Gmail on your iPhone. Review the "Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP)" menu listed below your Gmail login information on the iPhone screen. Tap "Save" when you are finished to store these settings.
Yahoo creates a folder titled Notes that appears on the left hand colum of your inbox. Tip: In all of the accounts, Notes will appear as if they were emails. It’s really a bit bizarre, as you can ‘reply’, which does nothing to your original note. You cannot create a new note, in the traditional sense, within this Notes folders on any of the accounts. Cloud has the absolute best implementation of notes on the web. At the time of this tutorial, Outlook does not support syncing of notes with iOS.
When you go into Settings for Outlook, notice the difference in options compared to Gmail. When you create accounts in Gmail, Yahoo and iCloud, you have an option to associate notes created on your iPhone and iPad with that service. Notes on Yahoo and Gmail will appear in your inbox. To date, the best option for syncing notes from the stock app is iCloud.

However, if you’re an iPhone user and you want to import contacts from Gmail to iPhone or transfer contacts to iPhone X from other devices, you’re going to have a harder time - while difficult, it’s not impossible. If you recently got a new iPhone and you’re looking for the best way to transfer your contacts over from an Android device, you can use one of the three methods that we’ll be showing you.
One of the ideal programs that you should consider looking into is dr.fone - Transfer for iOS, an excellent tool to use to import contacts from Gmail to iPhone X/8/7S/7/6.
