Hard reset is more a comprehensive reset and involves in factory resetting specifically. When to use: There are many cases you need to factory reset your iPhone 8 (iPhone X). Step 1: Backup iPhone 8 or iPhone X via iTunes, iCloud or iPhone backup software before performing factory reset since this will erase all your data. Click Erase iPhone to confirm your decision. Step 1: Back up your iPhone X/8/Plus/7/7 Plus.
Step 2: Connect your iPhone 8, iPhone X or earlier models to computer after you launch iTunes. Step 3: Enter your passcode or choose to Trust your Computer if asked. Step 5: Click Restore button to confirm the process. Then your iPhone 8 will be erased and reset with the latest iOS. Step 6: Restore iPhone 8/iPhone X and recovery iPhone data if necessary.
Note: please make sure to download the latest iTunes and turn off Find My iPhone and activation lock. This is workable for iPhone 7 or older version. Step 1: Connect your iPhone 8/Plus or iPhone X to computer. Step 2: Press and release Volume Up button, press and release Volumn Down button, and press and hold the Side button till the iPhone reboots. Stay the Side button pressed until the Apple Logo appear.
Step 3: Release the Side button if you see the Connect to iTunes logo appear on the iPhone display. Step 4: Launch iTunes when a message pops up "There is a problem with the iPhone that requires it to be updated or restored" Choose to Update or Restore your iPhone's Software. Step 5: Press and hold the side button until the Connect to iTunes logo disappears to exist the iPhone 8 recovery mode.
This is only known to work on devices that have iOS 10 installed. 1 - Open “Settings” and go to the “General” option. 2 - Tap on “Date and Time” and if it’s enabled, disable “Set Automatically”. 3 - Change the date and time by a few hours or days, then try the download again.
Remember to go back and correct this change afterward. This won’t always work, and we aren’t entirely certain why it has helped some users, but it’s worth trying. If your apps not downloading on iPhone when you are updating them, check your Apple ID. It’s important that the account you are signed into is the same as the one that you downloaded the application on originally.

The reason for Apple not allowing you to update apps that were downloaded on other accounts is simply a security precaution. However, we can’t deny that this can be frustrating for updating a free app that you have downloaded. A hard restart is slightly different from a regular restart. Regular restarts don’t completely reset the loaded iOS although a hard restart completely powers down the device and all iOS components. No third-party software is required, and it’s actually a simple process. 1 - Hold the “Home” and “Power” buttons for about 20 seconds.
2 - Release the “Power” button but continue to hold down the “Home” button. 3 - Your iPhone will go black and will shortly restart. Your iPhone might be slightly slower for a few minutes as it needs to load up completely, but there’s a chance that doing this will prevent your apps not downloading on iPhone. If you still aren’t getting the results that you want, then try downloading the app through iTunes and syncing it to your iPhone.
As tedious as this might seem it’ll do the trick. 1 - Open iTunes on your computer and navigate to the “App Store”. 2 - Use the search bar at the top right and find the app you want to download. 3 - From the app’s page, click “Get”. 4 - Connect your iPhone, click on the “Device” icon and from the sidebar click “Apps”.
