IPhone 4 VS Galaxy S II

The 2011 year witnessed a series of spectacular launches of one of the best smartphones ever to be made. With all of these great handsets on the market, even from the beginning of the year, one question was on everyone's lips: which is the best smartphone of them all, Well, after some serious investigations, we managed to narrow down the options, until we remained with only two smartphones - Apple's iPhone 4 and Samsung's Galaxy S II.

I think you'll all agree with me that these were by far the most mediatized, impressive and performing devices to be used in current year. The battle between Apple and Samsung of the battle between iOS and Android, let's see which one prevailed. Starting off with the form factor, we have to mention that although there are four dimensions of statistics to consider, only two are really important and the Galaxy S II wins at both of them.

Storage wise, things are a bit easier, since both handsets offer the same amount of flash storage, so this round goes to the referee. It simply is a pleasure to talk about displays, when you have in front of you such great pieces of technology. The Super AMOLED Plus (4.27-inch, 800x480px) and the Retina Display (3.5-inch, 960x640px) are without doubt the best ones on the market.

Samsung's display comes with a wider color gamut, superior contrast and sharper edges but the Retina Display comes with better outdoor visibility and lower power consumption, in such as way that the balance is restored. At this chapter, we find it impossible to give a verdict, both displays are simply great.

Without doubt, the performance aspect is of utmost importance. Both handsets have more than decent imaging properties, but once again the S II takes first place. Apple's device spots Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1 and 3G which gives it a decent connectivity specs sheet, but that's only until you take a look at the one on the Galaxy S II. It truly has it all: Wi-Fi, NFC, 4G, Bluetooth 3.0, DLNA, Wi-Fi tethering.

Bring me the biggest connectivity junkie and I-m sure he'll be more than satisfied with the S II. There's 4G which is great, the latest Bluetooth and the upcoming NFC technology. Also, Samsung's DLNA system is present, which will surely prove to be useful when you are eager to view HD content wirelessly from your handset onto a big screen TV.
