However, the OEM tends to be pretty specific about the battery performance of its devices, despite keeping mum on the number of mAh that the power sources are carrying. Keeping in tune with its custom, Apple did not officially say what battery capacity can be expected from the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, or how much RAM the devices will have.

Luckily for anxious users, leaks are usually here to shed light on the matter. What is more, regulatory filings offered the specific information that everyone was craving for. TENAA, the Chinese regulatory body, offered some peeks into the iPhone 7, revealing that the device comes with a 1,960 mAh battery. Its bigger iteration, the iPhone 7 Plus, packs a mighty 2,900 mAh power source.

To put it in perspective, keep in mind that the iPhone 6s had a battery of 1,715 mAh while the iPhone 6s Plus came with a power source of 2,750 mAh. The form factor-optimized smartphone from Apple, the iPhone SE, packs a 1,624 mAh battery. For internet use, the iPhone 6s offers the least battery life, a mere 10 hours on 3G and LTE, while it can provide 11 hours of battery life on Wi-Fi.

The iPhone 7 Plus is the champion in the category, as it can deliver 13 hours of browsing on 3G, and a maximum of 15 hours on Wi-Fi. Video playback time ranges between 11 hours on the iPhone 6s and 14 hours on the iPhone 7 Plus and iPhone 6s Plus.

Meanwhile, the audio playback time ranges between 40 hours (wireless) on the iPhone 7 and a whopping 80 hours on the iPhone 6s Plus. Last, but not least, the standby time for the new smartphone is in line with the former variant. Both iPhone 7 Plus and iPhone 6s Plus have a standby time of 16 days, while the iPhone 7 falls in line with the iPhone 6s and iPhone SE, at 10 days of standby time.
