How To Share Unsupported Files Via AirDrop From Your IPhone (Jailbreak Tweak)

AirDrop on your iPhone allows you to share files that are available on your device with other compatible AirDrop devices. While the feature is extremely useful for those who constantly exchange files with their iDevices, there are some limitations as to what type of files you can share. It doesn’t support all the file types, thus chances are you’ll be stuck when you want to share a file that is not one of the AirDrop supported file types (like music, for example). Here comes a Cydia tweak that lets you break these restrictions and share whatever type of files you want. This tweak is called AnyDrop and it does exactly what its name suggests, it lets you drop any file to any of the compatible AirDrop devices. You must be jailbroken to do this procedure. If you aren’t already, please follow our How to Jailbreak iOS 8.1.1 tutorial and finish it, then return to this procedure and continue.

Tap Search in the bottom right corner. Search for and tap on AnyDrop. Make the purchase using your preferred method. Tap Install in the top right corner (it used to be Purchase). Tap Reboot Device when the tweak’s done installing. Tap AnyDrop icon in your SpringBoard. It’s like a typical iOS app that we usually download from the App Store. Navigate to the folder where the file you want to share is located. Tap on the file. Tap Share icon in the top right corner. Tap the AirDrop compatible device you want to send the selected file to. And voila, the file’s sent! Note: This only works for the music tracks that you’ve synced to your iPhone using iTunes. It doesn’t work for the tracks that are directly downloaded from the iTunes Store to the iPhone. Hold down on the music track you want to share. You’ll be able to share the selected track using AnyDrop. Launch YouTube on your iPhone. Play any video you want to download. Tap three-dots in the top right corner. Select the quality you want to download your video in. Let it download the video for you.

Prior to iOS 11, AirDrop icon used to be visible in the Control Conter. But with the latest iOS version, it's slightly under the wraps. For those unfamiliar, AirDrop allows users to share content like photos, videos, files and more with other Apple devices nearby. It makes the sharing content between devices super convenient without the loss of any quality. Using AirDrop on iPhone X is as easy as it's on other iOS devices. You can customize AirDrop both from Control Center and Settings app on your iPhone X. Besides, you have the option to choose who can see your device in AirDrop and send you content. Open Settings app on your iPhone → tap on General → AirDrop and select the preferred option. Simply swipe down from the top right corner of the screen to open Control Center. Then, you need to press deeply or touch and hold the network settings card in the upper-left corner and tap AirDrop.

Receiving Off: Choose it to disallow AirDrop requests. Contacts Only: Only your contacts will be able to see your device. Everyone: To allow all nearby iOS/macOS devices using AirDrop can see your iPhone. Note: Just in case you see Receiving Off and can't tap to change it, open Settings → General → Restrictions and ensure that AirDrop is turned on. Make sure you have turned on Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on your device. And they must be on the device you are sending the content as well. If you have turned on Personal Hotspot on, disable it. Make sure it's turned off on the device you are sending the content as well. Setting app → Personal Hotspot and toggle it off. Ensure that the person you're sending content to is nearby. The receiver must not be out of Bluetooth and Wi-Fi range. If the receiver's AirDrop receiving setting is set to Contacts Only, only the person in his/her contacts will be able to share contents.

They need to set AirDrop receiving setting to Everyone to allow anyone to send them content. To share content using AirDrop, open an app and select the item. In this test, I'm going to share some of my favorite images. Once you have selected images, tap on Share button. Now, wait for the nearby AirDrop users to show up. Then, tap on the name of the user with whom you want to share the images. Next, let the images be sent successfully. Whenever anyone shares content with you using AirDrop, you will get an alert with a preview of the content. Tap on tap Accept or Decline in the alert. When accepted, you will get the content in the app it was sent from. For instance, photos appear in the Photos app and websites open in Safari. Just in case you share AirDrop content to yourself, like from your iPhone X to iPad Pro which are synced with the same iCloud account, you won't get an alert to Accept or Decline. So, take the full advantage of Apple's ad-hoc service to easily share files from your new iPhone. Let us know your feedback about it in the comments below.
