The two devices are close enough for the Bluetooth to connect successfully. There is a Wi-Fi connection available. The content you want to send is on the Share sheet of AirDrop. The size of the items you want to transfer isn't too big, or it will take you a long time. Switch on Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on your iPhone or iPad. Swipe up from the bottom of your iPhone/iPad screen to open Control Center. Click on AirDrop. Choose "Contacts Only" or "Everyone" to send data to you or receive data from you. For example, if you want to transfer photos from your iPhone to your iPad, after you have turned on AirDrop on both of your devices, go to the Photos App and select the photos you want to transfer. Tap on the Share button and choose your iPad shown on the screen. On your iPad, choose "Accept" to receive the photos from your iPhone. Go to Finder and choose "Go" in the menu bar. Choose "AirDrop" on the left side of the window. Turn on Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on your Mac if you haven't turned them on. You can set the "Allow me to be discovered by" option as "Everyone" or "Contacts Only". After you have turned on AirDrop on Mac, drag the items you want to share to the recipient's image appeared in the AirDrop window and click "Send".
Press and hold down both the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time. Hold them down until you see an Apple logo. Wait for the reboot to complete. After reboot, try connecting again. If this doesn’t fix the problem, head to the next solution. Apple releases updates to fix bugs and other issues such as compatibility issues. It’s always recommended to keep your software updated. If an update is available, install it. If this doesn’t work either, try adjusting AirDrop. Choosing Everyone increases your chances of getting AirDrop to work without any issues. If AirDrop still doesn’t work, you may want to try the next solution. Try and toggle radios to see if this fixes the problem. Check out this fix if Wi-Fi not working on iPhone. Tap the Bluetooth button to turn Bluetooth off. Toggle WiFi by turning wireless on and off. Tap the Bluetooth button and WiFi button again to turn Bluetooth and wireless back on. You can also make use of the Airplane Mode button to toggle Bluetooth and WiFi off and then back on at once. Now, check to see if the issue is resolved. AirDrop not working yet,
Time to try the next solution. Sometimes, resetting networks fix things. You’ll now have to reconnect to every Bluetooth and WiFi device you use. Check now to see if AirDrop works. If it doesn’t, well, you have no other option but to try matching the Mac. Mac isn’t showing up when trying to use AirDrop from your iPhone to Mac, Launch Finder on your Mac. In the sidebar, click on AirDrop. This should put your Mac in an “AirDrop-ready state” and may fix the issue. If one of these solutions helped you fix AirDrop issue, great! But sometimes, it gets really annoying when something doesn’t work the way you want it to. AirDrop creates a connection between your iPhone and one or more iOS devices such as iPhones (5 or later), iPads (fourth generation or Mini), or iPod touches (fifth generation). You can then exchange documents and data from apps, such as a contact card in Contacts, an address in Maps, or an event in Calendar. Drag up from the bottom of the screen to open the Control Center. When you turn AirDrop on, both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are activated because sharing takes place with either of these types of connections. Off to turn AirDrop off. Open whatever it is you want to share, say a photo in Photos. Tap the Share button. Tap the icon for the person you want to share with.
